A pioneering regional report led by African Leadership University’s School of Wildlife Conservation and funded under WIOMSA’s SCALABLE project grant is out!
While tourism is a cornerstone of the Blue Economy, it remains an understudied sector often sidelined in biodiversity or blue economy discussions in the WIO region. The “State of Coastal and Marine Nature-Based Tourism in the Western Indian Ocean (WIO) Region” report presents case studies on ten WIO countries looking at the coastal and marine nature-based tourism activities available and socio-economic values related to them.
