The U.S. Agency for International Development’s (USAID) U.S. Global Development Lab is pleased to announce an open solicitation for human and institutional capacity building collaborations between higher education institutions (HEIs) in the United States and those in low- and middle-income countries (LMIC) under the Science, Technology, Innovation and Partnerships (STIP) Annual Program Statement (APS). This is the last of the new mechanisms under the Higher Education Solutions Network (HESN) 2.0.
The Accelerating Local Potential Addendum to the APS seeks innovative approaches that go far beyond traditional capacity building and propose new ways to rapidly accelerate the scientific and innovation capacity of LMIC HEIs through partnerships with a U.S.-based HEI, in-country stakeholders, and other relevant partners. The primary goal of this Addendum is to propel LMIC HEIs toward becoming global leaders in scientific education and research, and increase their presence as a source of knowledge and innovation for local government officials, policy makers, industries, and other development actors.
