The 12th WIOMSA Symposium (#WIOMSA2022) was a monumental gathering for Western Indian Ocean Science! Drawing 954 attendees, the diversity, expertise and interdisciplinarity of #WIOScience was uniquely represented by all involved. There were 150 oral and 315 poster presentations in 56 thematic sessions at the 12th Symposium. Added onto 31 special sessions, 6 book launches and 22 exhibitions, the Symposium was the perfect place for sharing ideas and knowledge necessary to propel the UN Ocean Decade in the WIO Region!
