Dr Amon Kimeli is a senior research scientist at the Kenya Marine and Fisheries Research Institute with extensive experience in marine geosciences. He holds a PhD in Geosciences from the University of Bremen, Germany, and a Master’s degree in Marine and Lacustrine Science and Management from Vrije Universiteit Brussels in Belgium. His research focuses on sediment dynamics, studying their sources, fate and the biophysical factors influencing sediment deposition and accretion, as well as their impacts on critical habitats.
