Dr Batuli Mohammed Yahya is a lecturer and researcher at the Institute of Marine Sciences at the University of Dar es Salaam. She holds a PhD in Marine Sciences from the University of Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, and her research interests include marine fisheries, aquaculture, seaweed farming and marine ecology.
Batuli has a strong network and works with other experts and stakeholders in marine sciences. Currently, she is the coordinator of WIOMSA’s Women in Marine Science network for Zanzibar. Her vision as a country coordinator for Zanzibar is to strengthen membership opportunities and build capacity within the organization, as well as to provide a critical link between WIOMSA and communities in Zanzibar.
