Our communication culture at WIOMSA is centered primarily on three pillars;
- Supporting and producing scientific output that is relevant to society and that can support blue growth in the Western Indian Ocean (WIO) region.
- Improving awareness and absorption of research results by academia, the public and the private sector through the production, development and maintenance of different types of publications and web portal content for effective accessibility.
- Strengthening the linkages between science and policy for evidence based decision making towards the conservation of the coastal and marine resources of the WIO region. The Nairobi Convention and WIOMSA Science to Policy Platform series integrates scientific knowledge into language and format readily understood by policy and decision makers to effectively influence policy and decision making in the WIO.
