UN Environment’s Ecosystems Division works with international and national partners, providing technical assistance and advisory services for the implementation of environmental policy, and strengthening the environmental management capacity of developing countries and countries with economies in transition. The Nairobi Convention is a partnership between governments, civil society and the private sector, working towards a prosperous Western Indian Ocean Region with healthy rivers, coasts and oceans. The Contracting Parties to the Nairobi Convention are: Comoros, France, Madagascar, Mauritius, Mozambique, Seychelles, Somalia, South Africa and Tanzania. The Public Information Officer will ensure implementation of information programs for Western Indian Ocean Large Marine Ecosystems Strategic Action Programme Policy Harmonization and Institutional Reforms (SAPPHIRE), Implementation of the Strategic Action Programme for the protection of the Western Indian Ocean from land-based sources and activities (WIOSAP) and Nairobi Convention. This position is located in the Ecosystems Division at the Nairobi duty station…..click here to apply
