The WIO Journal of Marine Science is published by WIOMSA and was founded in 2002. It is a peer-reviewed journal published twice a year in both printed and on-line formats. WIOMSA Book Series

The WIOMSA Book Series aims to provide publications that cover themes and topics of significance in marine studies and the application of science to management of resources.  

MARG and MASMA Publications

The results of WIOMSA’s two research programmes, MARG and MASMA, are published in reports, which are available here: MARG Publications and MASMA Publications. The results are also published in peer-reviewed scientific journals.

Other Publications

Furthermore, WIOMSA has on a number of occasions coordinated the production of special issues of renowned journals such as Ambio, Estuarine Coastal and Shelf Sciences and Ocean and Coastal Management.

Under the heading WIOMSA and Partners' Publications, reports from joint workshops and projects, as well relevant publications from partners, are presented. Through its competitive research grant program, WIOMSA also provides grants to support publications of books and manuals. These are also listed under

WIOMSA also produces a Newsbrief, which is free of charge, comes out four times a year and gives information about different activities related to marine science in the region, as well as an annual report and a biannual magazine.
